It’s finally here. After years of speculation, the teaser trailer for the Michael Bay produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has arrived.
We see the principle players in this reboot – the Turtles, Megan Fox as April O’Neil and William Fichtner as The Shredder. If you ever wondered what Battle L.A. would look like if Bay produced it, this is pretty much it. Lots of colors, weird casting and no pizza talk.
The Turtles themselves look fine, although I wish Mikey didn’t take his mask off at the end (have you learned nothing from Stallone’s Judge Dredd, Mr. Bay?). This of course makes me wonder how low my expectations were for the CGI Turtles.
It looks as though this movie will primarily center on Fox though, which frankly, I’m fine with. I’m not expecting award-winning material here. Just some good action and humor and plenty of shots of Megan. She’s one of the reasons I can stomach the first two Transformers movies.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hits theaters August 8.
