16 Moments You May Have Missed from New ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ Trailer

“So many battles waged over the years and yet, none of them like this. Are we destined to destroy each other or can we change who we are and unite? Is the future truly set? Mutants, we now find ourselves on the edge of extinction.”

This is the opening line spoken by Patrick Stewart’s old Professor Xavier in the new trailer for Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. What follows is a series of dimly lit shots filled with CGI backed by a John Ottman score. Take a look:

Now that you’ve had a moment to look over the latest trailer, here are a few moments you may have missed.

1. Superman was here.

2. Storm gets attacked.

3. Avengers-style circular shot of Blink, Colossus, Havok and Sunspot.

4. Flame on, Sunspot.

5. Yea, because this guy doesn’t have enough mental and emotional trauma to deal with.

6. Ugh, that awful Quicksilver costume appears. Can we please CGI that character out?

7. A budding romance between Magneto and Mystique.

8. Fan Bing Bing as Blink, one of many promising young Asian actors. Check out her performances in My Way and Shinjuku Incident.

9. Kitty Pride (or is it Shadowcat) leading Mystique on an escape?

10. Which results in one of the good guys dying? I’m guess Professor X since both Kitty Pride/Shadowcat and…

11. … Mystique are crying.

12. Please tell me she morphs into a bird, flying squirrel or some other airborne creature.

13. Oh goodie, young Mr. Freeze made it into the movie!

14. Colossus and Blink!

15. Sunspot flames on!

16. It appears the Destroyer from Thor is back at it again.

All kidding aside, X-Men: Days of Future Past will arrive in theaters May 23. If you think it’s the last of the X-Men movies, think again. Singer has already hinted at two characters he wants for 2017’s X-Men: Apocalypse. Find out who they are.
