Bryan Singer Reveals Two Mutants He Wants in ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’

While we wait for the new X-Men: Days of Future Past trailer to arrive online tomorrow (March 24), director Bryan Singer is already turning his attention to the next X-film.

Speaking with Cine Premiere, Singer revealed two characters he would like to see in the next movie.

“I’m considering Gambit and potentially a young Nightcrawler for X-Men: Apocalypse. I was going to have Nightcrawler in X-Men: Days of Future Past and even wrote a scene, but I felt that we were forcing too many mutants.”

Ya don’t say. Needless to say though, fans have been wondering when Nightcrawler and Gambit would appear again in Fox’s X-Men Universe.

Apocalypse

Nightcrawler last appeared in X2: X-Men United while Gambit appeared in a cameo in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Alan Cumming played Nightcrawler while Taylor Kitsch played Gambit. No word if Singer will look to bring those respective actors back to reprise their roles or if he would recast.

X-Men: Apocalypse will focus on the origin on the mutants and function as a sequel to X-Men: First Class. Singer has said the film will take place in the ‘80s. Apocalypse will arrive in theaters May 27, 2016.

Meanwhile, Days of Future Past is in theaters May 23, 2014.
