Christian Bale Exits Steve Jobs Biopic

Despite reports last month that Christian Bale had signed on to play Steve Jobs in director Danny Boyle’s biopic about the Apple Computer co-founder, the actor has now dropped out the role.

The Hollywood Reporter states that Bale simple felt he was not the right actor for the role.

The biopic is based on author Walter Isaacson’s biography with an adapted screenplay by Aaron Sorkin. It was also recently revealed that Seth Rogen was in talks to play co-founder Steve Wozniak, though it is now uncertain if Rogen is still up for the part following Bale’s decision.

Bale was initially approached for the role by David Fincher when the Gone Girl director was previously attached to the film. Bale made himself available after Leonardo DiCaprio passed on the role in order to film The Revenant and take some time off from acting.
