On the same day that it was announced that she’d be headlining a solo Wonder Woman movie, Gal Gadot may be adding the MGM/Paramount remake of Ben-Hur to her upcoming list of films.
THR reports that Gadot is “being targeted” for the female lead in the remake which will arrive in theaters on February 26, 2016.
The film will reportedly return to the heart of Lew Wallace’s 1880 novel and focus on the nature of faith. The plot follows a falsely-accused nobleman who survives years of slavery to take vengeance on his best friend who betrayed him. Both men must choose between retribution or forgiveness.
Gadot would play Esther, a slave and romantic interest to Jack Huston’s leading man. Morgan Freemand and Toby Kebbell are also set to star in the film.
