100 Years of Movies in 100 Days – Day 58 – The Dirty Dozen (1967)

Now THIS is a movie! Loved The Dirty Dozen the first time I watched it and loved it the second time around. Think of this, essentially, as The Inglorious Basterds before there was Inglorious Basterds. Or perhaps The Expendables but with a better storyline. Then subtract Tarantino and the Stallone Brigade and add a whole host of classic actors, including Lee Marvin, Ernest Borgnine, Donald Sutherland and Charles Bronson.

The Dirty Dozen reminds me of those old-school kung fu movies where a group of guys come together to take down an evil lord/emperor/shogun/douche. And of course, each guy has their own specialty. Hey come to think of it, that kinda sounds like Ocean’s Eleven/Twelve/Thirteen/Can I Stop Counting?. Anyway, great movie. If you haven’t seen it, check it out!
