Vote: Most Anticipated Movies to Close Out 2016

With summer behind us (vote on your favorite summer movies here) it’s time to turn our attention to the final few months of the year.

Of course, this time of the year sees a number of award season contenders hit theaters, but we also get a nice mix of blockbuster films as well.

Earlier this week, we posted a list over on Ranker to see what your most anticipated movies were to round out the year. The very early top five consists of four indie films and Disney’s Moana.

In A Valley of Violence starring Ethan Hawke, Karen Gillian, and John Travolta is leading the pack early with Moana in second. Snowden starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt in the title role ranks in at third with the interracial love story Loving in fourth and Nate Parker’s Birth of a Nation rounding out the top five.

Magnificent Seven which opened in theaters last weekend clocked in at sixth and the results show in it’s box office topping opening.

Also out in release is Sully starring Tom Hanks which currently sits in eighth on the list.

A pair of Disney films round out the top ten with Queen of Katwe in ninth and Doctor Strange currently at tenth. And in case you’re wondering, Rogue One is currently 19th.

So if those are the movies at the top, what’s at the bottom? A couple of animated films – Sing and Trolls are part of the bottom five. Joining them are Wild Oats starring Jessica Lange and Demi Moore, Deepwater Horizon starring Mark Wahlberg, and Kevin Hart: What Now?

How will these rankings shift in the coming months? Your votes for your most anticipated (and unanticipated) movies will decide that. Vote here.

As for me, I agree with the current top six and throw in Doctor Strange, Rogue One, Shin Godzilla, and the critically-acclaimed La La Land starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling in there as my top ten most anticipated movies to end 2016. What are yours?
