You can’t blame Marvel for wanting to cash in on the Guardians of the Galaxy craze. While the film continues to build on its $618 million worldwide gross, third party companies like Funko have released highly coveted collectibles that go for as much as $100 on the aftermarket.

Two characters from the film who have blasted off to a new level of popularity are Rocket Raccoon and Groot.

“People everywhere can’t seem to get enough of Rocket and Groot,” Marvel SVP Sales and Marketing David Gabriel said.

Translation: Let’s put out a crap ton of variant covers for people to spend their money on.

“As soon as we came up with the concept to do Rocket Raccoon and Groot variants, the ideas just started pouring in. We couldn’t wait to get our hands dirty creating some really fantastic cover homages. This program is really the best of both worlds and we know it will really excite old and new fans everywhere.”
