Countdown to D23: New Disney Collectible Items Revealed

With Disney’s D23 Expo exactly 22 days away, we’re getting a look today at the new and limited edition Disney collectible products that will be available for fans at the Disney Store in the Consumer Products Pavilion. Star Wars, of course, is featured, but so is the hit television show Once Upon A Time.

The hit ABC show will get a Snow White and Evil Queen doll collection available exclusively at D23 Expo. Limited to 300 pairs, the two stars who portray the characters on the show, Ginnifer Goodwin and Lana Parrilla will also be on hand Saturday afternoon beginning at 4 p.m. to sign autographs on the D23 Expo Floor.

Once Upon A Time will also be featured in a panel on Saturday evening at 6 p.m. in Stage 23.

Keeping with the hero/villain theme, Disney will unveil their newest series of the Disney Fairytale Designer Collection.  The five sets of Limited Edition pairs of collector doll sets were designed by Disney Store artists and carefully crafted to capture the beauty and romance of fairytale friends and foes.

For the first time ever, attendees will be able to pre-purchase the complete set of Hero/Villain pairs before the general public pre-sale beginning online Monday, September 14. Following the preview at D23 EXPO, the doll sets will be released and available for purchase in stores and online starting September 29, with a new pair released each week. Each set is limited to an edition of 6,000 globally and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

One of the most iconic modern Disney films celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. Pixar’s Toy Story will not only have a number of toys and collectibles unveiled, but art work from the Disney archive will be showcased as well.

And then there is Star Wars. The Disney Store will be launching a number of collectible toys, including the Star Wars Elite Series, a new line of highly articulated and detailed die cast action figures, representing characters from Star Wars Episodes I-VI. The figures won’t be available in Disney Stores until later this year, but attendees will be able to purchase not only those figures, but D23 Exclusive R2D2 and C3PO figures as well.

Additionally, the Disney Store will introduce Star Wars Legion Helmets, a series of eight vinyl collectible helmets inspired by the Star Wars Legion Helmet project launched in early 2014.  The project pulled together artists from across The Walt Disney Company, resulting in 300 Storm Trooper helmets being transformed into diverse pieces of art, which inspired these collectible recreations.

As you can imagine, lines to get in and out of the Disney Store are going to be pretty crazy. To help alleviate some of the congestion, Disney is introducing StorePass (similar to their theme park’s FastPass) and will begin handing out limited quantities beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 14.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Starting at 10 a.m., and while D23 EXPO StorePass tickets last, visit the StorePass desk located adjacent to the StagePass distribution area in Hall A.
  2. Choose one of the 30 minute shopping experience timeslots, held from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.
  3. Present your D23 EXPO 2015 admission ticket to receive a StorePass ticket for the respective shopping experience location.
  4. Each person is limited to one StorePass ticket for each shopping experience location per day.
  5. Please arrive at the shopping experience location at least 5 minutes prior to the start of your assigned timeslot with your StorePass ticket.
  6. StorePass tickets are valid only for the timeslot printed on the ticket.

D23 Expo gets begins August 14 at the Anaheim Convention Center and continues through the weekend. Check back for more D23 updates as we continue the countdown to the Disney Expo and follow along on Instagram for updates from the event.
