While Marvel is showcasing Civil War in Hollywood this evening, Sony is making big news with another Marvel character a few hours away in Las Vegas at the annual CinemaCon convention (redundant, I know).
The studio not only announced the new title for the 2017 Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Homecoming, but sent out new Spider-Man star Tom Holland to make the announcement.
Sony’s Tom Rothman said that the title was an obvious reference to high school and seems to fit a John Hughes vibe that had been rumored for a while now. Check out the logo below:
Spider-Man: Homecoming is due out July 7, 2017.
