Game of Thrones Stars Talk Season Five, Favorite Deaths and a Diva Bear

Theon Greyjoy, Brienne of Tarth and Ros joined fans at Stan Lee’s Comikaze this weekend to talk Season 5, favorite deaths and a bear that was such a diva on set.

GOT2

While certainly exact plot points weren’t and couldn’t be revealed, Alfie Allen (Theon) did say that the new season would be “a much darker path” for his character, although it’s hard to imagine life getting any darker than after being castrated.

Of that scene, Allen was asked how he went about portraying that moment to which he replied, “It certainly was difficult… especially since I’ve never had that happen.”

GOT3

Esme Bianco (Ros) was asked about some strange moments behind the scenes and she referenced a stag head that continually broke while she was beating another character to death with it.

The star of the moment was certainly Gwendoline Christie who was coming off an epic fight with The Hound (Rory McCann) toward the end of season four.

“He really got in to it,” Christie said. “I definitely had to grow some balls for that. We’re on top of a mountain in Iceland and I’m fighting The Hound and there’s blood and spit and that’s the first time I truly realized I was on a TV show,” Christie joked.

Christie recently landed roles in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 and Star Wars: Episode VII, but she was not able to share any details about those roles.

GOT1

She did share a story of a bear they had on set in an earlier season of the show that was a complete diva.

“He had to have country western music playing all the time and be applauded whenever he came out of his cage and he got whipped cream on top of his food,” Christie said. “I went to [the producers] and said, ‘Why can’t I get that kind of treatment?’ and they just told me to be happy my character was still alive.”

Season Five of Game of Thrones will air on HBO and HBOGO in April 2015.
