61st San Sebastian Film Festival: 'Prisioners' Photocall

WB’s live-action Peter Pan movie is continuing to add big names to its cast. Variety reports that Hugh Jackman has officially closed a deal to play the pirate Blackbeard. Yesterday brought word that Garret Hedlund of Tron: Legacy fame was in talks to star as Hook. Jackman wasn’t the studio’s first choice. The studio had originally wanted Javier Bardem for the role, but the actor passed on the offer. Pan is set to sail into theaters July 17, 2015.

The fourth season of The Walking Dead returns in two weeks and today, AMC has released a new featurette previewing the zombie madness and “psychological horror” that awaits.

If you were hoping to catch a glimpse of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy during next week’s barrage of Super Bowl commercials, you’re going to have to wait a little bit longer. Writer/director James Gunn took to Twitter this morning to set the record straight. “For those of you asking about a #gotg Super Bowl spot, there will not be one, but we will have something incredibly awesome for you soon.” You can almost bet there will be a trailer attached to Captain America‘s April release but perhaps Marvel will sneak in a brief tease on Super Bowl Sunday…

Yesterday we reported that The Weinstein Company’s Grace Kelly biopic Grace of Monaco had been delayed indefinitely. Well, looks like the film will see the light of day after all. The film has been chosen as the opening night film for this year’s Cannes Film Festival which will get under way from the French Riviera on May 14. Pending reviews out of Cannes, we’re likely to see Grace of Monaco in theaters sometime in fall this year.

This morning also brings the latest character poster for the highly anticipated How To Train Your Dragon 2. The sequel flies into theaters June 13.
