Remember a few years ago when there Taylor Lautner (yes, the werewolf/shirtless wonder from the Twilight seres) was attached to star in a Stretch Armstrong movie adaptation? Well, that project has officially been put to bed by Relativity.
The project was originally a collaboration between Universal and Hasbro with Lautner attached to play the title character. Following the dismal performance of Battleship, Universal dumped the project, only for Relativity Media to pick it up. Lautner left the project when Relativity began building it together, but it looks like, ultimately the past few years of development were for naught.
“Stretch Armstrong is an incredible character who will make an amazing movie, and we know that Hasbro has some new ideas they are looking at,” Relativity said in a statement via The Hollywood Reporter. “Relativity and Hasbro have a tremendous relationship, and we decided to focus on other projects. We look forward to continuing to work together.”
Yup, Stretch Armstrong is such an incredible character that they ultimately bring him to the big screen. It sounds like Relativity and Hasbro will look to develop other properties under the Hasbro brand.
Anybody up for a Furby movie?
