‘Creed II’ Knocks Out First Two Pics from Upcoming Sequel

Creed 2 may be several months from arriving in theaters but today MGM and Warner Bros. released the first set of stills from the upcoming sequel.

Michael B. Jordan returns in the title role of Adonis Creed, son of the late Apollo Creed to take on his biggest challenge yet – a bout against the son of Ivan Drago, the man who killed his father in an exhibition match.

Sylvester Stallone returns as Rocky Balboa and also pens the script which will also return Tessa Thompson as Adonis’ singer-songwriter girlfriend. Phylicia Rashad stars as Mary Anne Creed, Apollo’s widow while Brigitte Neilsen will play Ivan Drago’s wife and Viktor Drago’s mother.

And speaking of the Drago’s Dolph Lundgren will return as Ivan Drago as he preps his son Viktor for his fight against Adonis.

From MGM/Warner Bros.:

Life has become a balancing act for Adonis Creed. Between personal obligations and training for his next big fight, he is up against the challenge of his life. Facing an opponent with ties to his family’s past only intensifies his impending battle in the ring. Rocky Balboa is there by his side through it all and, together, Rocky and Adonis will confront their shared legacy, question what’s worth fighting for, and discover that nothing’s more important than family. Creed II is about going back to basics to rediscover what made you a champion in the first place, and remembering that, no matter where you go, you can’t escape your history.

And just to refresh your memory, here’s the first trailer that dropped a couple of months ago. With the new stills, we can likely expect a new trailer in the next few days.

Creed II is in theaters November November 21st.
